Shantilal N. Patel, a Hyde Park resident since 1985 and formerly of India, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Tuesday, March 6, 2012 while vacationing in Bangkok, Thailand. He was 67.
Born in Ena, India on June 1, 1944, he was the son of the late Naginbhai Muljibhai and Jeljben N. Patel. For many years, Mr. Patel owned and operated The Inn at Hyde Park. He was a member of the Dutchess County Hindu Temple in Wappingers Falls.
He is survived by his wife, Sushila Patel at home; his sons, Chirag Patel & his wife Kaamini of Hyde Park and Shailesh Patel & his wife Tejal of Hyde Park; his grandsons, Dhru, Shea and Sai Patel, all of Hyde Park; his brothers, Thakor Patel & his wife Saroj of Middletown and Balvant Patel & his wife Kusum of Poughkeepsie; also many nieces, nephews and other loving relatives & friends.
Funeral services will begin at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 15th at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, followed by procession to the crematory at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery.
