FISHKILL – Sharon Slater Dempsey, a lifelong local area resident, passed away at home in Fishkill on Friday, February 25, 2022. She was 74.

She was born in Poughkeepsie on November 18, 1947, daughter of the late Jack Slater and Alma Whitmore. She was predeceased by her parents as well as her sister, Sue Slater Lloyd; her brother, Michael Slater; and her uncle, Don Whitmore.

Sharon will be remembered as a wonderful mom and grandmother, and her wonderful sense of humor will be missed by all who knew her.

Survivors include her son, Jim Dempsey & his wife Theresa of Lagrangeville; her daughter, Erin Plimley & her husband Scott of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Meagan Dempsey, Colton Dempsey, and Wyatt Plimley; and her brother, Patrick Slater & his wife Donna of Red Hook. Sharon is also survived by five nephews along with their families, as well as many other relatives & friends.

Calling hours will be held from 1 to 3 p.m. on Sunday, March 6 at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc., 1089 Main Street, Fishkill. A Celebration of Life Ceremony will begin at 3 p.m. with remarks from family & friends.
