Obituary

Wappingers Falls- Sharon K. Diaz, an area resident for the past 20 years, passed away on March 21, 2025, at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She was 69 years old.

Sharon was born on November 18, 1955, in Mount Kisco, NY, the daughter of the late James and Betty (Strang) Lawlor.

On February 24, 2006, she married the love of her life Fernando Diaz at the Mission Church in Holmes, NY. He survives at home.

Sharon was a member of Fishkill Baptist church where she ministered to many throughout her illness. Showing God's Grace is sufficient no matter what you are going though in life.

She was incredibly loved by many; she loved the Lord and had a passion for singing. She loved her family and friends, especially her children and grandchildren fiercely. She will be missed by all who knew her.

In addition to her husband Fernando, Sharon is survived by her children: Michael Neceda, Joseph Neceda and his wife Crystal, Matthew Neceda and his wife Alexandra, David Neceda and his wife Deirdre, her stepsons: David Diaz and his wife Brenda, Stephan Diaz and his wife Ashley. She is also survived by her loving grandchildren: Jessica, Jocelyn, Joseph, Charlie, Shane, Niko, Liam, Fiona, Eliana, Bella, Enzo, Valor, Ember and Journey and her great granddaughter Reina.

Sharon grew up in a very large family and is also survived by 10 brothers and sisters: James Lawlor and his wife Joanne, John Lawlor and his wife Bobbie, Alan and Kelly Morehouse, Mary Bowen and her husband Tom, Betty and her husband Carlos Rivadieneria, Patty Donovan and her husband Scott, Kathy Sutter and her husband Jim, Tammy Davidyock and her husband Pete, Michael Lawlor and Billy Lawlor and his wife Joanne along with many nieces and nephews, and her extended church family.

In addition to her parents, Sharon is predeceased by her former husband and father of her children Michael Neceda.

A memorial service will be held on Thursday, March 27, 2025, at Fishkill Baptist Church, 107 Route 82, Fishkill, NY at 10 am. Immediately following the service Inurnment will take place at Fishkill Rural Cemetery 801 Route 9, Fishkill, NY.
