Obituary

WAPPINGERS FALLS - Sheila Elaine Loomis Paglia, 74, an area resident for more than 40 years, died on Friday, February 26, 2016 at her home. She was affectionately known as “Cookie” by all those who loved her.

Born in Binghamton on November 23, 1941, she was the daughter of Harry Roland and Marguerite Gillen Loomis. Cookie is survived by her children, Nick Paglia and his wife Kathleen of Palmetto, FL, Angela Fulton and her fiancé Brooks Mather of Hopewell Junction, and Ronald Paglia Jr. and his wife Jennifer of Hyde Park; her grandchildren, Ryan Paglia, Jamie Paglia, Ty Fulton and Wil Fulton; her great granddaughter, Adele Paglia; her sister, Rosealyce Carpenter; and many nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Cookie ’s entire life was an act of selfless devotion to her family and small circle of lifelong friends. She didn’t know the word “no” or “sorry, not now” or “maybe later”. She only knew, “yes, I’m on my way”. And, like magic, she’d appear. At only 5’2” she was a fierce mother bear. Never one for the spotlight, she will be remembered as a number one fan to her children and grandchildren.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 1-3pm at the Valley Christian Church, 1072 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by a service at 3pm. Memorial donations may be made to the Westchester Medical Center - MidHudson Regional Hospital Fund, 241 North Road, Poughkeepsie, NY 12601.
