Shirley Ruth Bialy, of Beekman, entered into eternal rest on January 8th at home surrounded by the love of her children and grandchildren. She was 80 years old.
Born in San Diego, CA on August 29, 1931, she was the daughter of Alfred and Edna Oswandel Ruth. She received her degree in Elementary Education from San Diego State College. On July 11, 1953 in Corvallis, OR, Shirley married Jerzy Bialy, who predeceased her in January of 2008. She taught kindergarten in Corvallis while her husband attended graduate school. After moving to NY, she was employed as a teacher by the Arlington School District from 1967 – 1977. She was a long time member of Trinity Episcopal Church in Fishkill.
She is survived by her children, Alex and his wife Carol Bialy of Kingston, Krysty Ginader of Wappingers Falls, Terry and her husband John Badura of Hopewell Junction and Bron and his wife Ingrid Bialy of Millbrook; her grandchildren, Dan, Tom & Ben Ginader, Robyn Badura and Ethan, Zane & Griffin Bialy; and her sister, Ruth Huffman of Arizona. She was predeceased by her brother, Al Ruth, and her son-in-law, Curt Ginader.
Calling hours will be held at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 1200 Main Street, Fishkill, NY on Friday, January 13 from 9:45 to 10:45 a.m., followed by a memorial service at 11:00 a.m. with The Rev. Sr. Jean Campbell officiating. After the service, the family will receive friends for a luncheon at the parish hall. Entombment in the Community Mausoleum at Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery will be private.
Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Episcopal Church, Elevator Fund, P.O. Box 484, Fishkill, NY 12524. This is a fund that Shirley supported personally, in hopes of making the Parish Hall more accessible to all who are mobility challenged.
