POUGHKEEPSIE- Shirley A. Rose, a local resident for many years, passed away on May 20, 2025 at The Grand Rehabilitation and Nursing at River Valley. She was 86 years old.

She was born on January 25, 1939 to the late Donald & Mabel (Twiss) Bates in Valhalla, New York.

Shirley was an avid reader. She loved to take care of her home and especially her family.

She is survived by her daughters Debra West and Lorie Barrett; several grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She was predeceased by her husband Harold.

Calling hours will take place on Tuesday May 27th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A service will take place at 11:00 am in the funeral home. Inurnment will follow the service at the Poughkeepsie Rural Cemetery
