Hopewell Junction- Shirley A. Wright, born in Milton, NY on May 10, 1940, passed away peacefully on March 15, 2025. She was 84 years old.

Shirley leaves behind her husband of 65 years, Roger Wright. Two sons: Bill Wright and his fiance Paula Nazzaro, Roger Wright and his wife Lynnette, four grandchildren: Brandon, Wesley, Candace and Alyssa and two great grandchildren: Easton and Bryce.

Shirley owned and operated Wrights Greenhouse for 60 years with her husband selling flowers, vegetables and Christmas wreaths during the holiday season. In the summertime, Shirley and Roger would be found at many farmers markets or out at the stand.

Shirley thoroughly enjoyed working on the farm. In the early years they raised beef cows and sheep. During Lambing season, it wasn't uncommon to see her with a newborn lamb in the house cleaning and bottle feeding it during the cold weather or up in the barn stacking hay in temperatures above 110 degrees. Shirley wasn't afraid to work or get her hands dirty.

Shirley was also a member of the Ladies Auxiliary for the Wiccopee Fire Company for many years. She was a tough lady who was determined and proud of her accomplishments. She will be deeply missed by all.
