Shohola, PA – Siegfried Gross, 75, passed away on February 7, 2024 at Westchester Medical Center in Valhalla, NY. A resident of Pennsylvania for the last 12 years, Siegfried previously lived in Westchester County, NY.
Born in Austria on May 5, 1948, Siegfried was the son of the late Emil and Rosa (Tschernegg) Gross. He immigrated to the United States as a young boy.
Siegfried began his career as a superintendent at an apartment complex in the Inwood neighborhood of Manhattan. He was a hardworking self-employed contractor who built many houses, and was able to fix anything including cars. He also operated heavy machinery. He was employed as a maintenance mechanic for Ardsley Union Free School District in New York for over 24 years until his retirement.
Siegfried was an adventurous man who enjoyed the outdoors and was always willing to go for a drive, near or far, on a whim. More than anything, he loved his family and cherished the time he spent with them.
On September 15, 1973 in Manhattan, he married Angelika (Kleemann) Gross who survives at home after 50 years of marriage. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Jonathan and Heather Gross of Hopewell Junction, NY and Leila and Mike Wood of Georgetown, DE; his grandchildren, Kimberly and Addison Gross and Tristan and Grace Price; his brothers and their spouses, Henry and Barbara Gross and Bruno and Amy Gross; and many nieces, nephews, great-nieces, and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held on Saturday, February 17, 2024 at 10 am at First Baptist Church, 690 Highland Ave, Peekskill, NY 10566.
