Obituary

Silvio P. Ciancio passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his loving family on June 18, 2023, and was reunited in eternal marriage with his wife, Marilyn, of 60 years who predeceased him January 18, 2023. He was born in Manhattan, NY on November 22, 1936, to Silvio J. Ciancio and Rose ("Ruby" Pellegrino) Ciancio and grew up in the Bronx, NY. After graduating from DeWitt Clinton High School, he attended the RCA School of Electronics and worked for New York Telephone. He married, the love of his life, Marilyn Goddard, on May 11, 1963, in the Bronx, NY and together they raised 3 children. He relocated his family to East Fishkill, NY, and retired from NYNEX. His lifelong passion for fishing led to starting Dutchess Aquamarine Systems, specializing in tropical fish, a business that he ran from his home. His customers became friends, and he cherished both their business and friendship. Silvio was a volunteer in the Outreach Program at Church of the Resurrection in Hopewell Junction and for more than 10 years he picked up food from local businesses and delivered it to the Lunch Box in Poughkeepsie. He was an avid NY Yankees fan and attended many games, and a lifelong member of the NRA. Above all, Silvio loved spending time with family.

Silvio is survived by his two children, Jill R. Haack (Jerry) and James Ciancio (Danielle), (Heidi Ciancio, daughter-in-law), (Debra Marano Ciancio, daughter-in-law), six grandchildren, Jeffrey, Anthony, Stephanie, Joseph, Sara, and Troy, and 7 great grandchildren, Leonardo, Elijah, Jacob, Cameron, Alyvia, Lillian, and Jace; a special sister-in-law, Deborah Goddard, he called "Sis," his brother-in-law Richard Goddard (Alice), and sisters-in-law Nancy Young, Pam Wendell (Gary), and Sharon Knox (Dennis), many nieces and nephews.

He was predeceased by his parents and a brother, Robert, his wife, Marilyn, and a son, Andrew.

Special thanks and gratitude to Hudson Valley Hospice for the medical, emotional, and spiritual support which allowed Silvio to pass at home.
