Sisto Lombardi, 76, a resident of Dutchess County since 1969 and formerly of the Bronx, died on December 27, 2010 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center following a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.
Born in Italy on July 18, 1934, he was the son of the late Luigi and Giustina Lombardi. Sisto was a parishioner of Regina Coeli Church in Hyde Park and formerly was a member of St. Denis Church. A self-employed mason who worked on many local projects, he also constructed and owned the Sisto's Super #7 Plaza in Fishkill Plains.
On July 17, 1994 in Union Vale, he married Beryl Forster Revell who survives at home. In addition to his wife, Sisto is survived by his children, Lou Lombardi and his wife Jean of Florida, MaryAnn Day and her husband Larry of Hyde Park; stepdaughter, Haley Martell and her husband Tom of Verbank; stepson, James Revell and his wife Stephanie of Poughkeepsie; his grandchildren, Christopher Lombardi, Stephanie Lombardi, Matthew, Ethan, and Claire Martell, Hannah, Jared, and Ryan Revell, Robert Day, Donna Skaretka, George Telesha and Adam Telasha; his great-grandchildren, TJ Telesha, Alexzandrea Telesha, Michael Skaretka, and Liam and Carter Day; his brothers, Mario Lombardi and Adolfo Lombardi; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by his stepson, Wayne Revell who died in 2007.
The family would like to thank the nurses and staff in the Oncology Department at Vassar Brothers Medical Center and the Dyson Center for the outstanding care they provided their husband and father.
Calling hours will be on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Clove Cemetery in Union Vale.
