Sr. Dorotea Uceda, OBT, 91, died on Monday, December 29, 2014 at Calvary Hospital in the Bronx.

Born on February 6, 1923 in El Salvador, she was the daughter of Angel and Fidelia Herrera Uceda. Sr. Dorotea dedicated herself to the religious life as a sister with the Oblates to the Blessed Trinity. She was one of the founding sisters of St. Aloysius Novitiate. For many years, she worked as a teacher's aide at their school, the Happy House Learning Center. She also worked with the Fathers of Mercy in Lenox, MA, Franciscans in Lowell, MA, and Salesians in Goshen.

Sr. Dorotea will be fondly remembered by her sisters, nieces, nephews, cousins and all of her sisters in the Oblates to the Blessed Trinity.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in the Sisters plot at St. Denis Cemetery.
