Obituary

HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Stanley (Stan) Weiss, 79, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1977 and formerly of the Bronx, died peacefully at his home on September 11, 2021, surrounded by his family.

Born in the Bronx on February 3, 1942, Stan was the son of the late Moe and Ruth Weiss. On September 9, 1967, Stan married his loving wife Barbara Ann Wasserlauf who survives at home.

Stan had been employed by MaBSTOA (NYCTA) in New York City for more than 30 years, retiring as a Superintendent. After retiring from MaBSTOA Stan began a stress-free second career working at the Home Depot in Wappingers Falls. Stan enjoyed relaxing in his pool, sleeping, vacationing, playing darts, spending time with his friends, family and grandchildren, as well as being a practical joker.

In addition to his wife, Stan is survived by his children and their spouses, Tami (Weiss) and Mel Clauson of Poughkeepsie, Jody and Heather Weiss of Hyde Park, and Jamie and Jamie Weiss of Monclova; his grandchildren, McKenna, Ashton, Maddox, Sydney, Justin, Kylee, Brogen (aka Richie Rodriguez), Jase, Ophelia and Waylen; and numerous nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 2-5pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction with a funeral service at 4:30pm.
