It is with great sadness that the family of Stephen E. Conklin, a long time resident of Hopewell Junction, NY, announces his passing on March 21, 2018, at the age of 89 years.

Steve was surrounded by the love of his family, and most especially his wife, of almost 65 years, Barbara "Babs". It was often said that Babs and Steve were always holding hands and were rarely without the other. They were in the truest sense of the word - partners for life.

Steve was an avid reader, who loved sailing and the sea. He was always building or fixing something. His greatest joy was his family. He lived his life simply and believed in caring for others: this is his legacy.

Steve will be missed deeply by his children; David (Janice) Conklin, Diane Berger (Paul Amigone), Carol Ann (Richard) Scapperotti, Beverly (William) Burka and Daniel (Aranzazu) Conklin.

He was beloved by his thirteen grandchildren; James Scapperotti, Lindsey Adamic, Samantha and Kathryn Berger, Courtney Michelle, Haleigh, Isabella and Sophia Conklin, William Jr., Rebecca and Stephen Burka, Courtney Lockwood, and five great grandchildren Tess, Johnathan, Savannah, Timothy and Miley.

Calling hours will be on Wednesday, March 28th from 4:00pm to 7:00pm at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Jct. Funeral services will be on Thursday, March 29th at 11:00am at the Hopewell Reformed Church, 143 Beekman Rd., Hopewell Jct. Interment to follow in Hopewell Cemetery.
