Stephen Sesztak

LAGRANGEVILLE - Stephen Sesztak, 94, a resident of Lagrangeville, NY, passed away peacefully on October 17, 2026 at Waterview Hills Rehabilitation in Purdys, NY. He previously lived in the Bronx.

Born on July 10, 1932, in Rudabanyacska, Hungary, he was the son of the late Lajos Sesztak and Julianna Koslab. He came to the USA in 1957 and worked at Brooks Brothers in NYC until his retirement.

On September 23, 1967, Stephen married Phyllis (Santolla) Sesztak who survives at home after 59 years of marriage. He is also survived by his daughters, Lucy (James Smyth) and Julianna; his grandchildren, MaryEllen Smyth, Stephen Dorino and Sabrina Dorino; his brothers, Geza and Julius; his nephews and nieces, Eva, Patricia (Steve), and Thomas; one great-niece; and three great-nephews.

In addition to his parents, Stephen was also predeceased by his sister and 3 brothers, Margaret, Lajos, Bela, and Janos; his sister-in-law, Eva Sesztak; and his nephew, Julius Sesztak.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday, October 22nd from 9 - 11 am at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:30 am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville, NY. He will be buried at St. Denis Cemetery.
