Steven Michael Hart, 39, a lifelong area resident, died on Sunday, January 18, 2015 from injuries sustained in an automobile accident.
Born in Poughkeepsie on October 15, 1975, he was the son of John William and Debbie Hardy Hart. He was a driver for Economy Movers in Hopewell Junction, and had previously served as a Police Officer for the City of White Plains.
Steve played softball in several local leagues. He was also an avid golfer and sports fan. More than anything, he loved spending time with his children, watching movies and playing games such as street hockey, football and other sporting games.
On August 28, 1999 at St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction Steve married Heather Kennedy who survives at home. He is also survived by his children, Matthew James, Kevin Michael and Colleen Elizabeth; his parents, John and Debbie of Wappingers Falls; his brothers, John Joseph Hart and Michael Joseph Hart; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Friday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in Rose Hills Memorial Park, Putnam Valley.
