ELIZAVILLE - Steven Kasten, 34, formerly of Hopewell Junction, died on February 18, 2017 after complications from kidney disease.

He was born in the Bronx on July 5, 1982 and was a graduate of Roosevelt High School in Hyde Park. Steve had previously worked for Appliance Alliance in Staatsburg.

Steven is survived by his mother, Linda (Contento) Tuck of Hopewell Junction; his girlfriend, Emma Grima of Elizaville; his brothers, Michael Kasten of Fishkill and David Kasten and his wife Crystal of Saugerties; his grandparents, Charles and Eugenia Kiedaisch; his nieces who will miss their Uncle Steve, Vienna and Giuliana; his aunts and uncles, Kim Kiedaisch (His Godmother), Petra and Chuck Kiedaisch (His Godfather), Anthony Contento, and Diane and Donny Valitutto; his cousins and their children, Gina and Damien Spagnoli, Damien and Lauralyn Valitutto, and Andrew and Ashley Valitutto; his dogs, Jasper and Jazmine; and many loving friends. He was predeceased by his father, Ted David Kasten on November 25, 1989.

Steve liked working on and driving his Ford Probe. He loved his family and friends, enjoyed spending time with them and will be missed by them all.

Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday at 11 am at the funeral home followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
