EAST FISHKILL – Steven A. Virtue, 54, a lifelong area resident, died on Sunday, March 28, 2010 at his home following a courageous battle with cancer.
Born on December 23, 1955 in Portland, ME, he was the son of Wesley and Barbara Barnes Virtue of Tunkhannock, PA. He was currently employed as an accountant for IBM in Somers for the past 33 years. Steve was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction.
On April 22, 1978 at St. Denis Church, Hopewell Junction, Steve married Janet Davis who survives at home. In addition to his wife and parents, he is survived by his children, Timothy Virtue and his fiancé, Lisa Goyette of Walden and Stephanie Sierra and her husband, David of Montgomery; his brother, Todd Virtue of Wappingers Falls; his sister, Linda Nilsen and her husband, Gerard of Southbury, CT; and his nieces and nephews, Nicole, Ryan, Aubrie, Deanna, Brandon, Andrea and Matthew.
Calling hours will be held on Tuesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian will be celebrated on Wednesday at 10:00 a.m. at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. Burial will be at the convenience of the family.
