FISHKILL – Susan J. Denaro, 91, a resident of Fishkill for 14 years, formerly of Jackson Heights, Queens, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on Friday, September 25, 2009.
She was a parishioner of St. Mary, Mother of the Church in Fishkill and participated with the Fishkill Senior Citizens. Susan was a Columbiette for 40 years, and most recently belonged to the St. Mary's Council. For many years, she worked as a sales associate for Saks in Manhattan.
Born in Corona, Queens on October 10, 1917, Susan was the daughter of the late Stephano and Maria Corso Vitale. On April 20, 1941, she married Natalio Denaro, who predeceased her on April 7, 1986.
She is survived by her daughter, Susan Meyer & her husband Robert of Fishkill; her son, Francis Denaro of East Hampton; eight grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
Calling hours are from 2 to 6 p.m. on Sunday at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.  A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m. on Monday at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 103 Jackson Street, Fishkill.  Interment will follow at Calverton National Cemetery in Long Island.
