Susan Mary Haubert, 73, a resident of Bergenfield, NJ for 40 years and formerly of the Bronx, died on December 18, 2017 at Holy Name Medical Center in Teaneck, NJ.
Born in the Bronx on February 6, 1944, she was the daughter of William and Agnes (McGill) Haubert. Susan was a graduate of the Bellevue School of Nursing and devoted her life to nursing. She had been employed as a Registered Nurse and Open Heart Perfusionist at Montefiore Medical Center in the Bronx. In 1989, she was awarded the National Perfusionist of the Year by the American Society of Extracorporeal Technology and was also named an Emeritus Perfusionist by the American Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion. Susan co-authored books and papers in the field of perfusion.
Susan is survived by her brother, William Haubert, and his wife K. Jane Haubert of Poughquag, NY; her sister-in-law, Veronica Haubert of Kennett Square, PA; her nieces and nephews, James Haubert, Katherine Heuring, William Haubert, Sean Haubert, and Sara Carr; 8 great-nephews, 1 great-niece, and numerous cousins. She was predeceased by her brother, Robert Haubert; and her sister Peggyann Haubert.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 3-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Saturday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
