HOPEWELL JUNCTION - Susan Pidanick, 75, an area resident since 1978, died surrounded by her family on November 13, 2025 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She previously lived in Buffalo.
Born in Lackawanna, NY on April 7, 1950, Sue was the daughter of the late Martin and Marie (Koches) Sworen. She had been employed as a dental assistant for Dr. Hourihan, DDS and Dr. Weiner, DDS in Hopewell Junction until her retirement in 2014.
On February 6, 1971 at Our Lady of the Victory Basilica in Lackawanna, she married Charles W. Pidanick who survives at home after 54 years of marriage. She is also survived by her children, Jennifer Beisswenger of Fishkill, Kimberly Schuler and her husband Michael of Buffalo, Sara Qaqish and her husband Qais of Hyde Park, Jeffrey Pidanick and his wife Katherine of Poughkeepsie, and Andrew Pidanick and his wife Adrienne of Poughkeepsie; her grandchildren, Matthew, Rachel, Mikaela, Abigayle, Joseph, Alexander, Allison, Ava, Caitlyn, Patricia, Charles, Jakub, Olivia, AnnMarie, and Charlotte; her sisters and their spouses, Marie and Richard Hamm and Nancy and Nelson Logal; many nieces and nephews; and many friends, as well as friends of her children, many of who she referred to as her "boys".
In addition to her parents, Sue was also predeceased by her sister, Joyce Beirsback.
Calling hours will be held on Monday, November 17th from 4 - 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. A Mass of Christian Burial is being offered on Tuesday, November 18th at 10 am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by burial at St. Denis Cemetery.
