Suzanne Christensen
September 3, 1946 - August 12, 2025

Suzanne Christensen, of Wappingers Falls, NY, passed away on August 12, 2025. Born on September 3, 1946, she was a lifelong resident of the Hudson Valley and a devoted advocate for learning, community, and family.

Suzanne graduated from Ketcham High School before going on to earn her Master's in Library Science from Syracuse University and a Master's in Career Counseling from Western Connecticut State University. She was an active member of the Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District and Literacy Volunteers of America, dedicating her time and talents to helping others grow through knowledge and literacy.

Her interests included reading, playing bridge, traveling, and collecting books, postcards, coins, and stamps. She was proud to be a descendant of Sarah Wells, one of the first women to make her home in the Hudson Valley.

She is survived by her husband, Neal; her son, Shawn, and his wife, Nina Isabella; her grandsons, Avery and Adrian Christensen; her brother, Roger Cooper; and her nephew, Brian Cooper.

Family and friends are invited to gather in her memory on Thursday, August 21, 2025, from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. at McHoul Funeral Home, 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. A celebration of Suzanne's life will take place on Friday, August 22, 2025, at 11:30 a.m. at Wappingers Falls Rural Cemetery, 174-208 W Main St, Wappingers Falls, NY 12590.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Friends of the Poughkeepsie Public Library District to support local library programs and services.
