Suzanne M. Kirstein, 89, a resident of Wappingers Falls since 2022 and formerly of Downsville and Cortlandt Manor, died peacefully on February 2, 2026 at the Taconic at Hopewell.
Born in Ossining on April 27, 1936, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Alice (Worden) Hard. Suzanne was a graduate of Ossining High School and had been employed as a retail clerk at Jamesway in Peekskill.
Suzanne loved traveling. Her adventures included traveling across the United States and visiting National Parks with her husband in their truck camper. She enjoyed meeting people and talking with them, and sharing her stories. The family historian, she loved her two granddaughters and six great-grandchildren who always made her smile. She also cherished her cat, Tom T.
On April 22, 1954, Suzanne married the love of her life, Charles D. Kirstein, who predeceased her on August 18, 2022. She is survived by her son, Charles D. Kirstein Jr. (Joyce Furlong) of Cold Spring; her daughter, Janice Kirstein of Wappingers Falls; her granddaughters, Michele Hesselgrave (Raymond Hernandez) of Loxahatchee , FL and Robin Diaz (Daniel Diaz) of Hopewell Junction; and her great-grandchildren, Tyler, Dagen and Sienna Hernandez of Loxahatchee, FL, Donovan, Camden and Baylee Diaz of Hopewell Junction. She also has many beloved nieces and nephews. In addition to her husband and parents, she was also predeceased by her brother, Joseph Hard, Jr.
