Sylvia Bedani, 93, a resident of Poughkeepsie and previously of Astoria, Queens, died on March 3, 2022 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on September 25, 1928 in the Bronx, Sylvia was the daughter of George and Olga (Boustali) Pieroutsakos. On July 28, 1969, Sylvia married the love of her life, Peter Bedani, who predeceased her on September 17, 2013.

Sylvia was a librarian at the NY Public Library. She loved and adored her husband and enjoyed taking trips with him especially to Sag Harbor. She had a passion for Italian and Greek food.

Sylvia is survived by her nephew and niece, Peter and Lisa Parrella of Hopewell Junction; her great nephew, Peter Parrella; her nephew, Danny and Diane Parrella of Somers; her great nephew and great niece, Joseph Parrella and Danielle and Carmine Giannotto; her great great niece, Elizabeth Giannotto; and her sister in law, Susan Monopoli.

Calling hours will be held on Monday from 5-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be on Tuesday at 11am at the funeral home followed by interment at St. Raymond's Cemetery in the Bronx.
