Tara M. Privitera, age 56, passed away at home on her and her beloved husband Leonard's 41st wedding anniversary, September 21, 2023. Tara was born on January 2, 1967 in the Bronx to Peter and Marguerite (Burchell) McHale. Tara married Leonard Privitera on September 21, 1982 in Davie, Florida. They enjoyed many happy years together.

Tara always had a smile on her face, no matter what she was going through. She was a very special person who never had a bad word to say about anybody. She was a truly kind soul and a friend to everyone she met. She loved being with her husband and spending quality time. They enjoyed many concerts together over the years, including The Who, Bob Dylan, and Stevie Nicks. Leonard wrote a poem for Tara to express his love for her: "Love is good, love is bad, love is sweet, love is sad, love is knowing someone, love is having more fun, love makes the sky turn blue, love makes me say, "I love you."

In addition to her beloved husband Leonard, Tara is survived by her two children Nicholas and Rhiannon Privitera; her grandchildren Maximus and Orrin; her sister Sharon and her husband John; and her niece Lily.

She was predeceased by her son Ryan Privitera in 2019.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday September 24, 2023 from 2-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home of Fishkill, Inc. 1089 Main Street. A memorial service will take place on Tuesday September 26, 2023 at 11am also at the funeral home.
