Teddy G. Murphy, Sr., a Lagrangeville resident for over 30 years, died at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie on March 3, 2024. He was 68.

Son of the late Richard and Lorraine (Ohara) Murphy, he was born in Amenia, New York on October 24, 1955. Teddy married Pearl B. Murphy on April 23, 1981.

Teddy worked at Optum in Oakwood Commons as maintenance for their facilities department until his retirement.

Teddy is survived at home by his loving wife, Pearl; his children, Teddy Jr, Joseph, and Jamie; and his stepdaughter Darlene Disotell. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews. He was the best papa to his grandchildren Aria Murphy, Jillian Murphy, Ryan Disotell, and Michael Disotell, and his great-grandson Skyler Disotell.

Ted had a great sense of humor, and a kind heart, and was loved by so many. Words can't express how much Ted will be missed by his family and friends.

Calling hours will be held from 4:00 – 8:00 pm on Friday, March 8, 2024, at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a funeral service at 7:30pm.
