Teresa Mae Foley of Urbanna, VA died Sunday, December 19, 2010 at the Saluda home of her son Tom, after a long illness. She would have been 93 on December 21 and was a former resident of NYC and Wappingers Falls.
Mrs. Foley was born in NYC and was the only child of the late Harry and Catherine (nee Coffey) Junker. She was a graduate of Cathedral High School, where she was class president of four years, on the yearbook staff and a member of the literary and debating societies.
After an eight-year business career, Mrs. Foley met her husband James, a member of the 101st Airborne. They were married in the Lady Chapel of St. Patrick's Cathedral in April of 1944 before Mr. Foley was sent overseas. Mr. Foley died in 1981.
Left to cherish her memory are her son Tom and wife Mary Louise of Saluda along with Mrs. Foley's special-needs daughter, Alice Ann, who lives with her brother and sister-in-law in Saluda. In addition, Mrs. Foley is survived by her daughter Catherine and husband James Leo of Highland Mills, N.Y.; her daughter Jean Foley-Malvey of Fishkill, N.Y.; her daughter Doris and husband Kevin Duignan of Stormville, N.Y.; her daughter Evelyn Foley of Yonkers, N.Y.; and her son James Foley and his wife Patricia of Yonkers, N.Y. She is further survived by 12 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
Friends will be received on Tuesday, December 28, at Bristow-Faulkner Funeral Home in Saluda, VA from 6-8 p.m. A Christian wake service will be held at 7 p.m.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Thursday, December 30, at 11 a.m. at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in the Veterans Section of St. Denis Cemetery. Local arrangements are under the direction of the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.
