Teresa Ann McCauley (Terry), 88, a long-time resident of Hopewell Junction, NY, passed away on December 28, 2021, in Montrose, NY, after a long illness.

Terry was born on November 16, 1933, in the Bronx to Owen and Rosena (Murphy) Clark, both of whom immigrated from Ireland. Terry was always very proud of her hard-working Irish heritage. An excellent student, she graduated from Stella Maris High School, a private all-girls high school in Queens, New York. She had the fondest memories of her years growing up in Far Rockaway, where she gained her lifelong affection for the beach. After high school, she worked in Manhattan as a secretary until her marriage to Michael Francis McCauley on September 7, 1957. She moved to Hopewell Junction in 1960 with her husband and two children, and eventually had two more children.

Terry's greatest love was her family. Terry was a devoted and loving wife to her husband, Mike, for 60 years. She enjoyed dancing with him, especially at events hosted by the St. Mary's Council of the Knights of Columbus. Terry also enjoyed traveling with Mike after his retirement. A loving and involved mother to her four children, Terry relished her role as "Nana" to her eight grandchildren. Her children and grandchildren were her pride and joy. Terry's home was always beautifully maintained and welcoming to all, especially to her family and neighborhood friends.

She was an active parishioner in the parish of St. Columba for more than 55 years. Her Catholic faith was very important in her life, and it helped sustain her through life difficulties, including two bouts with cancer. As a grateful cancer survivor, she raised money for the Cancer Society for many years.

Teresa McCauley is survived by her sons, Richard (Denise) McCauley of Wappingers Falls, Michael (Janice) McCauley of Richland, MI, Robert (Beverly) of Bettendorf, IA, and by her daughter Sharon (James) O'Neill of Poughquaq, NY. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Justin Antenucci (FL), Brendan McCauley (NJ), Lance McCauley (CA), Jenevieve McCauley (MA), James McCauley (IA), Myles McCauley (IA), Caroline McCauley (IA), and Jimmy O'Neill (NY). Terry is also survived by her sister, Rosemary Kaufmann (NC), and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and her brother Walter, Teresa was predeceased by her beloved husband of 60 years, Michael Francis McCauley.

Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 3-6pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
