Terry Ray Wacker

Terry R. Wacker passed away on September 27, 2026 at the age of 88. Born in Plainview, Nebraska on September 10, 1938, he was the only child of the late Carl H and Beaulah A. {Langemeier} Wacker. On October 19, 1957, he married the love of his life Connie {Surber}.

Terry was an active member of Our Savior Lutheran Church of the Missouri Synod for 63 years. He served as President of the Board of Trustees, Treasurer, Vice President of the Church Council and member of the Finance Committee. He was active in establishing Boy Scout Troop 95 at the church in which all 3 sons became Eagle Scouts. His daughter became a First Class Girl Scout.

His lifelong career with IBM began on May 5,1958 in Duluth, Minnesota in Stock and Parts Inventory Control; proceeded at IBM East Fishkill through Computer Operator, Data Center Manager, Personnel Counselor, Distribution Center Manager, and Management Education .

Terry enjoyed hunting and fishing. He bowled, played softball and baseball. He enjoyed involvement in Little League Baseball as Assistant Coach. After his retirement from IBM he was proud to say he watched every inning of the New York Yankees.

Terry is survived by his wife Connie; his four children; Michael and his wife Barbara, Patryce and her husband Brian Pace, Marcus and his wife Lynett, Randyll and his wife Sandra; 10 Grandchildren - Becky Espeseth (Jason), Christopher Wacker (Sabrina), Kevin Wacker, Matt Wacker (Anna), Zachary Herring, Michael Herring, Emelia Wacker, Jullian Wacker, Benett Wacker, Amanda Wacker, and 8 Great-Grandchildren as well as many relatives in Nebraska.

Calling hours will be held on Friday October 2, 2026 from 4 - 7 pm at McHoul Funeral Home in Hopewell Junction, NY. The funeral service will be held on Saturday October 3, 2026 at 11 am at Our Savior Lutheran Church at 1400 Route 52 in Fishkill, NY, followed by interment at Fishkill Rural Cemetery.
