Theodore Tenny, a Hopewell Junction resident since 1981, formerly of Mahopac and Mount Vernon, died peacefully at home on Thursday, December 12, 2013. He was 79.
Son of the late Hannah Greenberg Tenny, he was born on September 14, 1934 in the Bronx, where he was raised as a child.
In 1958, Theodore enlisted in the United States Army. He served our country until 1964, when he was honorably discharged from his duties.
His career was with the U.S.D.A., where he worked as a meat inspector for many years. He retired in 2000.
Theodore was an avid outdoorsman, whose hobbies included gardening, hunting, and camping. He enjoyed reading the news, especially the New York Times and Poughkeepsie Journal.
On March 5, 1960, he married Olga Perez in the Bronx. Mrs. Tenny survives at home.
Additional survivors include three sons, Kevin Tenny & his wife Alicia, Peter Tenny, and Chris Tenny & his wife Melissa; his grandchildren, Hannah, Lucy, and Abery; his brother, Morton Tenny; several nieces, nephews and many other loving relatives & friends.
In addition to his mother, Theodore was also preceded in death by his brother, Bob Tenny.
