Theresa "Teri" Stapinsky-Colantuono died peacefully at home, surrounded by family, on September 5, 2023 at the age of 81, after a courageous battle with cancer.

Teri was born in Bronx, NY on January 2nd 1942 to Andrew and Mary Stapinsky. After graduating from high school, she married Frank Colantuono of Maybrook, NY. She was a hardworking woman, loyal friend, and loving mother to their children. She later worked at Downstate Prison in the Education and Medical departments until her retirement in 2010.

Teri had a contagious laugh and witty sense of humor, and shared her love through food. She took pride in her famous "Mema's Meatballs" and apple pies. Besides cooking, some of her favorite pastimes were listening to country music, sewing, and sharing time with her loved ones.

She is survived by her beloved children, Mary (Joseph) Fernandez, Frank Colantuono, and Paul Colantuono, along with 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren, as well as several nieces and nephews. Her sister, Rosemarie Green of Lubbock, TX survives her. She is predeceased by her sister MaryAnn Legnini and brother Andrew Stapinksy.

She will be missed by everyone who knew and loved her. The family wishes to thank Dutchess County Hospice for their unwavering kindness and support during this difficult time.
