Thomas J. D'Ambrosio, 86, a resident of the Town of Beekman since 2005, and formerly of Port St. Lucie, FL, Stony Brook and Brentwood, died on Thursday, February 16, 2012 at his home.
Born in Brooklyn on December 16, 1925, he was the son of Raphael and Louisa Salamone D'Ambrosio. Thomas was a graduate of Stuyvesant High School and proudly served our country in the US Army, as a medic in the 27th Infantry. He was a dental technician and owner with Ambrosia Dental Lab in Brentwood for over 60 years until his retirement in 2008. He was a parishioner of Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Church, LaGrangeville. Thomas was a member of St. Anne's Parish in Brentwood for more than 30 years. He also served as a Trustee and was involved with the Knights of Columbus, Holy Name Society, Nocturnal Adoration and various services for the poor.
On October 30, 1948 at the Church of the Holy Ghost, Thomas married Sara Arbia who survives at home. He is also survived by his children and their spouses, Mary and Edward Tilson of Fort Myers, FL, Ralph and Cindy D'Ambrosio of Bayport, Gerard and Jayne D'Ambrosio of Carmel, Teresa and Vyts Kulpa of Columbus, OH, Grace and Bobby Zummo of Fort Salonga, Elizabeth and Michael Crafts of Lehigh Acres, FL, Anne and Christopher Whitton of Beekman; his sister, Angelica Falchero of Roswell, GA; 17 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9pm at the McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Saturday at 10am at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
