Thomas J. Ferraiola, 91, a resident of LaGrangeville and previously of Yonkers, died on Monday, October 22, 2018 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born on May 21, 1927 in Yonkers, Tom was the son of Joseph and Angelina (DiRienzi) Ferraiola. On May 11, 1957, Tom married the love of his life, Marie Liberatore, who survives at home.

Tom started his career in industry as a chemist working on government projects including rocket fuel research. He found his true calling though, as the head of the chemistry department at Saunders, Trade and Technical High School for over 35 years.

In addition to his wife, Tom is also survived by his children, Angela Ferraiola Calabrese and her husband Danny of LaGrangeville, Laura T. Ferraiola of Peekskill, Thomas A. Ferraiola and his wife Sandra of Holmes; his grandchildren, Joanna Calabrese of LaGrangeville, Elaina Calabrese and her fiancé Mike of Mt. Kisco, Jacob and Samantha Ferraiola of Holmes.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-8pm at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday at 10am at St. Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by burial at St. Mary’s Cemetery in Yonkers.
