Thomas L. Gumaer of Myrtle Beach, SC, originally from Wappingers Falls, NY, passed away on Sunday, February 24th, 2019 surrounded by his loved ones.

Tom was born on October 22, 1947 in Yonkers, NY. He attended Lincoln High School and graduated in 1965. Tom proudly served in the US Navy aboard the USS Steinaker during the Vietnam War. He married Nancy Pedatella on August 3rd, 1993. They celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary in August of 2018. Tom enjoyed a long successful career in the plumbing industry as a proud member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local 21 Union.

He is survived by his loving wife, Nancy Gumaer; his sister, Karolin Lombardi and brother in law, John Lombardi; many children including Michelle Darr of Charlotte, NC and spouse Chris, Kristi Adams of Myrtle Beach, SC, Christine Colon of Poughkeepsie, NY and spouse Michael, Christopher Pedatella of Wappingers Falls, NY and spouse Dana and Deanna Grigsby of Wappingers Falls, NY and spouse Michael. Tom is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandchildren and one great grandchild. Tom's grandchildren and great grandchild were the light of his life. Tom's gentle demeanor and warm smile made him a favorite grandpa (and "crampa"). He was a constant presence at their games, recitals, meets and competitions.

He was a devoted husband to his wife Nancy, his "angel". They shared a one of a kind love. They enjoyed nothing more than traveling, dining out and spending time with their special group of close friends. They held hands every step of the way up until the very end.

Tom's entire life was focused around his family, friends and church. Tom and Nancy worshiped together at Valley Christian Church. His family is grateful for all of the prayers and fellowship that they received during his illness.

Calling hours will be held on Monday, February 25th from 5pm-9pm at McHoul Funeral Home located at 895 NY-82, Hopewell Junction, NY 12533. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 26th at 11:00am at Valley Christian Church located at 1072 NY-82, Hopewell Junction NY 12533.
