Thomas Michael Shay Jr. passed away on December 7, 2024 at the age 82. He was born in Yonkers, NY on May 11, 1942 to the late Thomas Michael Shay Sr. and Marjorie (Hamilton) Shay. On April 23, 1981 in Mount Vernon, NY, Thomas married Alice (Williams) Shay. Alice predeceased him in 2021.

Thomas was a Lieutenant at the Mt. Vernon Fire Department. He was also a carpenter by trade and he worked at Westchester Modular Homes. He was a very hard worker. In his spare time, he liked to go fishing, watch westerns, and spend time with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his son Mathew Shay and his wife Melissa; his grandchildren: Connor, Aidan, and Ashlinn of Holmes ,NY; son Eric Shay and his wife Rebecca of New Braunfels, TX; and his brother William "Billy" Shay.

Calling hours will be held on Monday December 16, 2024 from 9-11 am at the McHoul Funeral Home 895 Route 82 Hopewell Junction. A Funeral Service will begin at 11 am, followed by burial at St. John's Cemetery in Pawling.
