HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Thomas F. O'Brien, 73, an area resident for 13 years, passed away on September 15, 2015 at home. He previously lived in Yonkers.
Born in Yonkers on September 21, 1941, he was the son of the late Thomas and Rose (Nardo) O'Brien. He proudly served our country I the US Air Force.
On June 7, 1964 in Yonkers, Thomas married Constance (Gerakas) O'Brien who survives at home. Thomas was a member of the Assumption Greek Orthodox Church in Danbury, CT. He retired as Captain of the City of Yonkers Fire Department in March of 1992 after 28 years of service.
In addition to his wife of 51 years, Thomas is survived by his sons, Ken O'Brien of Fishkill, Victor O'Brien and his wife Debi of Grand Island, Gregory O'Brien of Hopewell Junction, and Thomas O'Brien of Bowling Green; his six grandchildren; and his brother, Dennis O'Brien of Yonkers.
Calling hours will be held on Friday from 5 – 8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction with the Trisagion Prayer Service at 6pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Saturday at 10 am at Assumption Greek Orthodox Church, 30 Clapboard Ridge Road, Danbury, CT followed by burial at Rose Hills Memorial Park with military honors.
