Thomas E. O'Rourke, 74, passed away on May 6, 2015 in Vassar Hospital surrounded by his family.

Born on May 16, 1940, he was the son of William and Selma.

He is predeceased by his brother, William O'Rourke and daughter Cathy Turner. He is survived by his wife, Frances; sister, Alyce and her husband Joel; sister-in-law Deanne; sons, Thomas and his partner Angel and Timothy; daughter, Kellie and partner Robin; step children, Francine and her husband Robert, Janine, Benjamin and his wife Joni; nephew, Adam and his wife Mary; niece, Erin; nephew, William and his wife Jackie; great nephews, Shawn and Will; grandchildren, Keighla, Andrew, Miah, Sabastian, Steven and his wife Michelle, Chris and his wife Ashley, Erica, Victoria and Christina; great grandchildren, Michael, Noah, Sophia, Benjamin, James and Christian and many loving friends.

Tom enjoyed camping with his children and going on long hikes looking for old windmills. He talked about the days of his childhood with great fondness and spent many a time in the Adirondack Mountains. Tom also enjoyed taking his children to Yankees games and watching sports with them. He was a devoted father with a big heart and often drove many miles to be sure time could be spent with them. Tom loved summer days at home by the pool enjoying time spent with his family and grandchildren. He always enjoyed talking about the funny antics he and other officers participated in, held his coworkers in high regard and would be very happy to see rookies mature and advance in their careers. Many times his children would be with him and they would hear "Hey Captain!" They would go on to say he was fair and treated them well. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, friend, mentor and coworker who will be missed by many.

Tom, we love you and miss you very much.
