Obituary

FISHKILL – Thomas J. Reilly, a Fishkill resident since 1970 and formerly of the Bronx, died on Tuesday, November 14, 2017 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie following a one-year battle with leukemia. He was 75.
Son of the late Thomas and Mary Ann (Enright) Reilly, he was born in Manhattan on May 17, 1942. In 1961, he was inducted into the U.S. Army and served as a Medical Corpsman and Hospital Attendant at the U.S. Army Hospital in West Point. He was honorably discharged from active duty in 1963, and continued serving as a reservist until 1967.
Thomas had a long career working as a Refrigeration/H.V.A.C. Engineer. He was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers Local 30 and worked at Boehringer Ingelheim Pharmaceutical Company in Ridgefield, CT for 20 years, retiring in 2005. He had previously worked at Rockefeller Center as well as administration for the NYPD.
On February 4, 1967, he married Ana L. Sosa at Our Lady of Esperanza Church in Washington Heights. Ana survives at home in Fishkill.
Thomas is also survived by two sons, Daniel T. Reilly and Christopher J. Reilly; his brother, Michael J. Reilly; his sister, Ann Marie Doherty; his niece and nephews (along with their families), Timothy H. Doherty, Janine M. McPartland, Oliver P. Reilly, and Michael Reilly; and many other loving relatives & friends.
He was predeceased by his parents as well as his brother, Walter E. Reilly, and his brother-in-law, Alan H. Doherty.
A memorial service will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, November 16, 2017 in the Community Mausoleum at Fishkill Rural Cemetery, 801 Route 9, Fishkill.
