Tiffany Leigh Waters, 24, a lifelong area resident, died on Saturday, May 19, 2012 with her mother at her side at New York Presbyterian Columbia University Medical Center following a short illness.
Born in Poughkeepsie on January 19, 1988, she was the beloved daughter of Debra Presti Waters who survives at home. Tiffany was a 2002 graduate of St. Denis-St. Columba School and a 2006 graduate of Our Lady of Lourdes High School where she played both basketball and volleyball. She also played St. Columba CYO Basketball, AAU Basketball, APEX Volleyball and LaGrange Town Soccer. She was employed at Somers Orthopedics as a Medical Assistant and had previously worked for the Mid Hudson Medical Group for many years.
Tiffany was a free spirit who loved animals, especially her cats. She enjoyed origami, art of any type, music and relaxing with friends. She was a "people person" who had a special gift for helping the elderly, a trait which served her well in the medical field. She was full of life and good at everything that she did. She also had a special way of bringing people together and always brought out the best in everyone.
In addition to her mother, she is survived by her grandparents, Frank and Alice Presti of Saugerties and Florida; and many aunts, uncles, cousins and friends.
