LAGRANGEVILLE – Tulio Rocco Rispoli, Jr., 70, an area resident since 1994, died peacefully at home on October 11, 2022. He previously lived in Queens.
Born in Brooklyn on October 24, 1951, he was the son of the late Tulio Rocco Rispoli, Sr. and Beatrice (Mattioli) Rispoli. He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Dorothy "Dee" Rispoli on October 17, 2011, with whom he shared 33 years of marriage.
Tulio had retired from a career with the United States Post Office in Flushing, Queens after over 30 years of service. During his retirement he enjoyed cooking, especially making pizza. He was a lifelong Dodgers fan, from their time in Brooklyn to Los Angeles. As a young boy, he was lucky to have shaken the hand of Jackie Robinson, a story that he loved to share. Tulio was an animal lover, having owned and loved a variety of pets and caring for feral cats as well. He loved his family above all, always putting their needs before his own, and cherished the time he spent with his grandchildren.
He is survived by his children, Nicole Atkins and her husband Rob of Poughkeepsie, Christina Squilla and her husband Vinnie of LaGrangeville, Tulio R. Rispoli III of LaGrangeville, and Anthony Rispoli of Wappingers Falls; his grandchildren, Christopher Atkins, Sean Atkins, Vincent Squilla, Ashton Dimase- Rispoli, Arianna Squilla, Nora Rispoli, and Charlotte Squilla; his sister, Cathy Benevento and her husband Mike; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his wife and parents, Tulio was also predeceased by his siblings, Bobby Rispoli and Toni Neumann. He will be greatly missed.
A Memorial Mass will be offered on October 21, 2022 at 10:00am at St. Mary, Mother of the Church, 106 Jackson Street, Fishkill, NY.
