Urania Troche, 82, of Hopewell Junction and formerly of New York City and Puerto Rico, died on Thursday, August 27, 2015 at her home surrounded by her loving family.
Urania was a parishioner of St. Columba Church in Hopewell Junction, and a parishioner of Good Shepherd Church in New York City where she was a Eucharistic Minister and a charmastico. She also loved flowers.
Born in Mayaguez, Puerto Rico on December 12, 1932, she was the daughter of Antonio Ortiz and Ramonita Lebron. On October 24, 1953 at St. Paul Church in New York City, she married the love of her life, Catalino Troche who survives at home.
She is also survived by her children, Miriam Tise and her husband Richard of Dumont, NJ, Mildred Troche of Dumont, NJ, Annie Troche Lopez and her husband Edward of Bergenfield, NJ, and Raymond Troche of Hopewell Junction; her grandchildren, Daniel Tise, Nicole Tise, Nia Troche, and Ray Troche; her sister, Aida Luz Acosta of Mayaguez, PR and her brother, Papo Ortiz of Mayaguez, PR.
Calling hours will be held on Sunday from 2-4. The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
