Ursula E. Krauss, 91, an area resident since 1983 and formerly of Queens, died on Wednesday, March 19, 2014 at her home.
Born in Harburg, Germany on February 16, 1923, the daughter of Eduard and Marie Heysel Michalzik. Ursula had been the owner and operator of Fenway Farms in Queens. She was a member of Our Savior Lutheran Church in Fishkill and the East Fishkill Seniors. For many years, she and her husband sang with the Germania Singers of Poughkeepsie. She enjoyed all kinds of needlecraft, gardening, cooking and baking.
On January 15, 1944 in Hamburg, Germany, Ursula married Robert Gerhard Krauss who predeceased her on October 14, 2009. She is survived by her children and their spouses, Barbara and Gilbert Endrulat of Fort Myers, FL, Rolf and Susan Krauss of Stormville, Margaret and James Onesios of Allendale, NJ; her grandchildren, Lisa, Karen, Erik, Matthew, Emily, Erica, Rolf Jr., Kristin and Kathryn; and her great-grandchildren, Heidi, Derek, Robert, Hanna, Evan, Luke, Gia and Claire. She was predeceased by her sister, Christel Masanek of Hamburg, Germany.
Calling hours will be held on Saturday from 5-7pm and Sunday from 2-4pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The funeral service will be on Sunday at 4pm at the funeral home with Rev. John Young officiating.
