WAPPINGERS FALLS – Valerie Ann Bruni, 41, a lifelong area resident, passed away unexpectedly on Sunday, November 16, 2014.

Valerie was born in North Tarrytown on June 12, 1973 and was a 1991 graduate of John Jay High School. She graduated from the Dutchess BOCES Institute and had been employed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) for many years.

Valerie is survived by her sons who were the loves of her life, Thomas Jordan Bruni-Smith and Michael Andrew Bruni-Smith; her parents, Jordan and Judith (Doyle) Bruni of Sun City Center, FL and formerly from Fishkill; her sister, Stephanie Hamilton and her husband Jay of Forest, VA and formerly from Wappingers Falls; her nephews, Patrick Hamilton and Daniel Hamilton of Forest, VA; the father of her sons, Shawn Smith of the Bronx; and several aunts, uncles, cousins, good friends, and companions. She was predeceased by her grandparents and her cousin Lisa.

There will be no calling hours and funeral services will be private.
