HOPEWELL JUNCTION – Valerie J. Comerford, 80, a resident of Hopewell Junction, died on June 14, 2023 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center. She previously lived in Dover Plains, Lake Carmel, and Brewster.

Born in Melbourne, Australia on March 3, 1943, Valerie was the daughter of the late Clarence and Alma (Cornish) Cann. She retired as Vice President from Dills Best Building Supply in Brewster. During her retirement, Valerie loved spending time in her garden.

In 1971 in Carmel, Valerie married Joseph A. Comerford who survives at home. She is also survived by her brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Ronald and Catherine Comerford and Catherine and Mario Scalisi; and her beloved nieces and nephews, including several nieces in Australia.
