Valerie J. Menchen passed away on May 22, 2025 at Sapphire Nursing at Wappingers. She was 67 years old. Valerie was born on July 18, 1957 in Yonkers, NY to the late George F. and Loretta (Piekarski) Menchen. She worked for many years as an EKG Technician at St. John's Hospital in Yonkers.

Valerie was an animal lover who adored her two cats Giggles and Tabby. She would always feed the stray cats in her neighborhood, making sure they never went hungry. She enjoyed tag sales and thrifting, and even had her own booth at the local flea market. In her younger years, Valerie enjoyed riding around on her motorcycle.

She is survived by her siblings: Gary Menchen of Copake, NY, William G. Menchen and his wife Peggy of Landenberg, PA, Ralph Menchen of Midland, NC, and Anne Menchen of Hopewell Junction, NY; her nieces and nephews: Denise Michelle Ballou, Gregory J. Menchen, Christine Steffensen, Billy Menchen, John Menchen, Linda Menchen and Jeremy Johnson.

She was predeceased by her brother Russell Menchen in 1969, her sister Virginia Claire Menchen in 2015, her nephew Matthew Menchen in 2014, her sister-in-law Sally Ann Menchen in 1993, and her sister-in-law Mae T. Menchen earlier this year.

Visitation will be held on Saturday May 31, 2025 from 10-11 am at McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place at 11:30 am at St. Columba Church 835 Route 82 Hopewell Junction, NY. Interment will be on Monday at 12pm at St. Joseph's Cemetery, 209 Truman Avenue, Yonkers, NY.
