Vanessa Elizabeth Doughty Anderson, 38, passed away peacefully at her home surrounded by her loving family following a courageous battle with cancer. She is now in Heaven holding her daughter Shaelynn in her arms.

Born in Poughkeepsie on July 27, 1987, she was the daughter of Dwayne and Karen (Fitzpatrick) Doughty. Vanessa was a 2005 graduate from John Jay High School. She was employed as a records clerk for Royal Carting in Hopewell Junction where her dedication and kindness touched the lives of many.

Vanessa was a parishioner of St. Columba Church. She played Softball in East Fishkill for 17 years. She devoted her life to loving and supporting her daughters. She never missed a softball game, or a cheerleading or gymnastics meet. Vanessa was known for her warm spirit and her ability to make those around her feel valued and understood. She was a friend to many, always willing to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. Vanessa's love for her family was a tremendous source of joy in her life, and she will be deeply missed by all who knew her.

On May 7, 2022, Vanessa married the love of her life, Stephen Anderson. In addition to her parents and her husband, she is survived by her cherished daughters, Elyanna, Audrina and Cali; her brother, Kyle and his partner Jessica; her nieces and nephews, Benaiah, Lily, Miles and Brian; her grandmother, Alice Doughty; her mother-in-law, Jane Anderson; her brothers-in-law, Marc and Daniel Anderson; as well as many other family members and friends. She was also predeceased by her grandparents, Betty and James Fitzpatrick, and Joseph Doughty.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 2-4 and 6-8pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. The Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Thursday at 10am at St. Columba Church, 835 Route 82, Hopewell Junction followed by interment in St. Denis Cemetery.
