Ved Gupta's Obituary
Ved Parkash Gupta, age 81, passed away on December 20, 2020 after several years of declining health, compounded by a recent contraction of Covid-19.
Ved was born in Sonipat, India in 1939 to Kishan Chand Gupta and Shanti Devi. After studying mathematics at St. Stephens College in Delhi, he immigrated to the United States in 1960 and moved to Dutchess County in 1967. He was a career IBMer, working at offices in Poughkeepsie and East Fishkill.
He married Ilashree Nath in 1973, and had two children, Sanjay and Priya.
Ved enjoyed playing bridge with his friends at Poughkeepsie chapter of the American Contract Bridge League, exercising and socializing at All Sport Fishkill, participating in the Hindu Samaj, and spending time with his three grandchildren.
He is survived by his wife Ila, his children Sanjay and Priya Gupta, their partners, Swati Gupta and Peer Zumbansen, and his grandchildren Aanya, Shaan, and Sana.
