Veronica H. Anderes, 90, a resident of the Town of LaGrange since 2002 and formerly of Mount Vernon, died peacefully on Wednesday, September 30, 2009 at The Thompson House in Rhinebeck.

Born in England on October 23, 1918, she was the daughter of William and Alice Gilman Gannon.  She was employed as an engraver for Lillian Vernon in Mount Vernon for 20 years.  She was a member of the Tri-town Senior Friendship Center.

Veronica was married to Robert G. Anderes who predeceased her in November of 1983.  She is survived by her children, Ann Donohue and her husband, Richard of Wappingers Falls, Edward Anderes and his wife, Marilyn of Carmel, Elizabeth Abrams and her husband, Leigh of Stamford, CT, Loretta Lifgren and her husband, Martin of LaGrange and Eileen Black and her husband, Jeff of Hyde Park; 17 grandchildren, 14 great-grandchildren and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.  In addition to her husband and parents, Veronica was predeceased by her son, Hugh Anderes; her granddaughter, Sarah Donohue; her brothers, Francis and Thomas Gannon; and her sister, Winifred Visser.

Callings hours will be held on Sunday from 2 to 5 p.m. at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction.  The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Monday at 10:00 a.m. at Blessed Kateri Tekakwitha Church, 1925 Route 82, LaGrangeville followed by interment in Gate of Heaven Cemetery.
