Hopewell Junction- Victor J. Costanzo, 89, a resident of Hopewell Junction since 1968, passed away peacefully at home on July 21, 2023.
Born on July 25, 1933 in the Bronx, Victor was the son of the late Sebastiano and Jennie (Savio) Costanzo. He proudly served in the US Army Military Police Corps. In 1993, he retired as a manager from IBM after over 30 years of service.
At the age of 9, he met a young girl who was 6, Laura Mazzella, with whom he later married on June 30, 1956 at St. Patrick's Church in Richmondtown, Staten Island. His loving wife of 67 years predeceased him on January 8, 2023.
An avid fisherman, he enjoyed working around his house and cooking with his wife. His greatest passion was his Horex motorcycle. More than anything, he loved making his wife happy and family was the most important thing in his life.
Victor is survived by his sons and their wives, Samuel and Patricia Costanzo and Gary and Joni Sue Costanzo; his grandchildren, Nicholas and his wife Christina, Anthony and his wife Elyse Aufrichtig, and Dylan Michael; his sister-in-law, Mary Ann Costanzo; and many nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was also predeceased by his brother, Alfred Costanzo.
Calling hours will be Thursday from 4pm-8pm at McHoul Funeral Home Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. A Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Friday at 10am at St. Denis Church, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, NY. Interment to follow at St. Denis Cemetery with military honors.
