POUGHKEEPSIE – Victor J. DiGiovanni, 84, a lifelong area resident, died on May 29, 2021 at Vassar Brothers Medical Center.

Born in Poughkeepsie on June 7, 1936, he was the son of Victor B. and Marion (Costa) DiGiovanni. Victor had been employed as a Corrections Officer for the State of New York at Fishkill Correctional Facility for 22 years until his retirement in 1980. He had been a member of Mase Hook & Ladder in Beacon, and the Elks Lodge in Wappingers Falls.

On May 30, 1975 in Fishkill, Victor married Carol Post who predeceased him on May 27, 2020. Victor is survived by his children and their spouses, Joseph and Linda DiGiovanni, David and Diane Patterson, Paul DiGiovanni, Dawn Murasso; his grandchildren, Joseph and Lauren DiGiovanni, Niccole Butch, Paul Michael DiGiovanni, Annalise DiGiovanni, Autumn DiGiovanni, Aaron DiGiovanni, Jeremy and Sophie Murasso; his great-grandchildren, Braelyn, Snoh, Makenzie, Rylee, Ava and Hunter; his beloved dog, Markie; his siblings, Lorraine and Rico Valez, Loretta and Gary Heinz, Albert and Carol DiGiovanni; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also predeceased by his grandson, Joshua Patterson.

Calling hours will be held on Wednesday from 4-7pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction. There will be a funeral service on Thursday at 10am at the funeral home followed by interment in the Wappingers Rural Cemetery.
