STORMVILLE – Victor H. LaQuadra, 97, a resident of Stormville for nearly 30 years, passed away peacefully at home on April 24, 2023. He previously lived in Yonkers.

Born on April 3, 1926 in the Bronx, Victor was the son of the late Homer and Kathleen (Quigley) LaQuadra. He proudly served in the US Marines during WWII. Victor was employed as a police officer for the City of Yonkers for over 30 years, retiring as Lieutenant in 1988.

On June 21, 1952, Victor married Theresa (Dunn) LaQuadra who predeceased him on February 7, 2011. He is survived by his children, Gregory LaQuadra of Savannah, GA, Kathy LaQuadra of Manhattan, Laura Felice of Pawling, and Tina Correia and her husband Joe of Yonkers; his grandchildren, Samantha and Drew, Lana, Juliette, Joseph and Abigail, and Brian; and his great-grandchildren, Madelyn, Sophia, Rachael, and Aiden. In addition to his wife and parents, he was also predeceased by his sister, Gloria LaQuadra.

Victor was an energetic and active soul. He was jogging before running shoes were invented, scuba diving when a tank was called an "aqualung", and climbing up on the roof to clear off heavy snow well into his seventies. He was snazzy on the dance floor and taught himself (and his kids) photography. He could fix a car, re-carve the back of an antique chair, make a clock tick again, or a washing machine spin again. Last but not least, Victor had a beautiful voice that did justice to the Great American Songbook. He revered Frank Sinatra, Vic Damone, Tony Bennet and even Lady Gaga.

Calling hours will be held on Thursday from 4-8 pm at the McHoul Funeral Home, Inc., 895 Route 82, Hopewell Junction, NY. On Friday at 10 am, family and friends will gather at the funeral home to follow in procession to the 11 am graveside service at St. Denis Cemetery, 602 Beekman Road, Hopewell Junction, NY.
